WELCOME

We are excited that you and your community are interested in, or already participating in, our program.

The ICSL is a recreational youth soccer league (as defined by the IYSA) providing healthy activity, emphasizing enjoyment of the sport and skill development.  The ICSL brings together players with differing levels of soccer experience and sophistication and provides a higher level of play while minimizing the travel and expenses associated with a travel league.

This program allows young players to advance beyond the normal local recreational league and to learn and enjoy soccer in a positive environment, represent their communities, and play with the same children with whom they go to school.  The communities represented often find themselves playing each other for many years after ICSL as they transition into High School and share the same conferences.

  • Fall and Spring Seasons offered.
  • Age Divisions: Under 8/9, U10, U12, U14 / Jr.High, and U18 starting Spring 2012
  • Team Formats: 8 v 8 for U8/910, 11 v 11 for all upper age groups.
  • Coaches are Volunteers and Teams are coordinated through a Community Lead.
  • IYSA Annual Background Check required for Coaches / Assistant Coaches.

Participating communities include: Bloomington, Canton, Chillicothe, East Peoria, El Paso, Eureka, FC Peoria, Germantown Hills/Metamora, Hollis Park, Lincoln, Limestone, Mackinaw, Metamora, Morton, NTRA/Sunnyland, Olympia, Pearce, Pekin, Peoria Academy, Peoria Christian, Peoria Soccer Club, Roanoke/Benson, and Washington.  This list changes every season.

We are a 501(c) non-profit organization which seeks to provide the communities that participate, and more importantly the kids that play, with the best recreation environment to support our leagues purposes.

The Purpose of ICSL is to:
   1.  Teach the fundamentals of soccer;
   2.  Promote physical fitness;
   3.  Teach good sportsmanship and teamwork;
   4.  Promote the sport of soccer to the youth of the Central Illinois area.

We are also an active member of the Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA).

We sincerely welcome your suggestions, as well as your participation in the workings of the ICSL.  It takes a tremendous effort to accomplish all that must be done in order to sustain a successful soccer team and league; arranging team/league schedules, coaching recruiting, player development, tournament management, practice organization, and much more.

We need your SUPPORT!  We are always looking for volunteers and earnestly solicit your participation to keep the program running.  Give me a call to discuss where you can help him with Scheduling, Tournaments, Pictures, T-Shirts, Rosters, Saftey, Field Mgmnt, Referees, etc.  Please let us know if you have an interest in a specific area for a season, a year, while you have a team in the league.

If your community is interested in joining ICSL or if you have any questions (after reading through the documents and pages of the site), please send me a note.

Your assistance with SAFETY is appreciated.  If you notice any unsafe activity or have any questions regarding the league's safety plan, do not hesitate to bring it to the attention of the ICSL Board members, Community Director, Field Director, Community Directors, or Coaches.  If a situation requires immediate attention let's all use our best judgment to take care of the situation immediately.

Thank you to all of the dedicated parents, volunteers, referees, and coaches for making ICSL a great league!

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Rick Walker
